How to make a vignette photo effect
The vignette effect is widely used in photography. What is it for? It helps people to focus on the center of the image and not be distracted by the edges or by irrelevant details. It does this by darkening the borders or lowering the saturation level. These kinds of shadowed borders can also make your photos look softer and more inviting.
Some camera lenses have built-in filters for vignettes, but you might want a better solution with more options. Try using Movavi Photo Editor to create a vignette photo! It is easy to use and takes just a few quick steps to add vignette effects to your photos. Download the program and follow the instructions below.
Step 1. Install Movavi Photo Editor
Double-click the file you’ve downloaded to install Movavi Photo Editor. Launch the program.
Step 2. Choose a file
To add a file, click the Browse for Images button. Choose an image and open it. You can also drag the image into the program window.
Step 3. Add the vignette
Click the Effects tab, then choose Vignettes from the available photo effects. There are several templates for vignettes, which differ by color and vignette frame. Feel free to click on the preset that you like best.
You can change the intensity of the borders by moving the slider; click Apply to overlay the final vignette filter.
Step 4. Save the changed file
You’re almost done! Now just click the Save button to save your image. Specify the file type, file name, and destination folder. Click Save again, and everything is ready! With Movavi Photo Editor, vignetting is a fast and rewarding process!
